Network Declaration
The platform Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie (GCNE) is a Dutch platform focused on accelerating the raw materials transition within the chemical manufacturing industry in the Netherlands, from fossil-based to circular, biobased, and CO₂-based resources. GCNE focuses on “gamechangers,” often young companies in the scale-up phase or existing companies that promote and implement the raw materials transition within their operations.
The platform supports these companies in their financing challenges and, as a result, has built a large network of innovative entrepreneurs and financial organizations, as well as deep insight into the obstacles these companies face. GCNE represents “gamechangers” in its lobbying efforts on selected policy topics that stimulate the financing and scaling up of business initiatives. To this end, GCNE maintains a broad network with regional and national governments and also focuses on European legislation.
To achieve its objectives, GCNE is actively building a network that stimulates and helps shape the innovation and business climate for gamechangers. GCNE actively refers in its communications to the various parties within this network.
By signing this Network Declaration, the organization confirms that GCNE’s objectives are relevant to its own business operations and declares to endorse these objectives. The organization grants GCNE permission to include its name and logo in GCNE’s communications and infographic. The organization will, to the extent possible, actively contribute to and be involved in GCNE’s activities.
GCNE’s objectives are socially motivated while also serving private interests. The platform was initially established with support from regional governments. Its long-term goal is to be financed through a public–private model, a prerequisite for sustainable success. GCNE will involve organizations in its activities.
We offer several options for financial contributions based on capacity.
The declaration is valid from January 1 through December 31 and is automatically renewed each December 1 for the following year. The agreement ends upon:
- Liquidation or dissolution of the legal entity;
- Written termination by the Participant;
- Written termination by the Board if the Participant acts contrary to GCNE’s objectives, working methods, or decisions.
GCNE is regionally organized and collaborates with the clusters Chemport, Smart Delta Resources, Moerdijk, Deltalinqs, Economic Board Zuid-Holland, Amsterdam Chemistry Network, and Chemelot. GCNE was founded by the Regional Development Agencies, InvestNL, TNO, and the knowledge center Brightsite in Geleen, and is supported by the provinces of Limburg, North Brabant, Zeeland, South Holland, North Holland, Drenthe, Friesland, and Groningen. GCNE reserves the right to exclude organizations from its network if, in GCNE’s judgment, they are insufficiently aligned with its objectives.
