About GCNE

Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie (Green Chemistry, New Economy, abbreviated as GCNE) aims to improve the innovation and entrepreneurship climate in the Netherlands for a green (manufacturing) chemistry sector. Accelerating the sustainable transition in manufacturing chemistry is only possible when forces are combined.

GCNE is committed to removing barriers to scaling innovative technologies and business models so that game changers in the areas of biobased raw materials, recycling, carbon capture and utilization (CCU), and process electrification can scale to industrial volumes. New connections between chain partners, regions (both within the Netherlands and across borders), sectors, and disciplines are essential for this.

Within GCNE, this collaboration is facilitated and stimulated. The goal is to maintain a vibrant community where game changers in green chemistry can meet each other and relevant financiers, partners, and policymakers to explore opportunities for collaboration.

What You Will Get

  • Active Participation in the GCNE Agenda: Engage and influence the overarching agenda of GCNE through a quarterly participants' council.
    We believe it is important for participants to actively contribute to the prioritization and agenda-setting within GCNE. To this end, GCNE organizes a quarterly participants' council. As a participant, your organization will have a seat in this council.
  • (Inter)national Matchmaking: GCNE aims to connect participants with one another and facilitate learning about specific topics.
    -     To achieve this, GCNE organizes at least four exclusive organizational visits for participants each year.
    - GCNE also hosts an annual plenary GCNE event and a minimum of three thematic quarterly meetings. As a participant, your organization will receive two tickets to these meetings.
    - Access to an Extensive Network: GCNE maintains a broad network of (potential) chain partners, financiers, policymakers, and academics.
    - As a GCNE participant, you will have access to this network, and we will connect you with experts or potential partners.
    - Access to the Gamechanger Network: GCNE maintains a game changer network, exclusively accessible to entrepreneurs working on scaling green chemistry companies (≥ TRL5), including alumni from the Green Chemistry Accelerator.
    - To support this, GCNE organizes three intervision sessions per year combined with masterclasses tailored to the needs of the companies. As a participant, you will gain access to this network and these meetings.
  • Opportunity to Initiate Collaborative Projects: You have the chance to initiate joint challenges (grant) projects or research.

Your Contribution

  • Participants as Ambassadors of GCNE: We seek participants who support the mission and goals of GCNE. They proactively identify opportunities to be pursued within the GCNE network.
  • Engagement in GCNE Activities:
    - Participants are involved in GCNE activities and/or meetings. Where possible, they contribute their knowledge, experience, and needs within the community, maintaining a balance of give and take.
    - Members of the GCNE Game Changers Network demonstrate commitment to the meetings and are present at least two out of three meetings.
  • Financial Contribution: We request a modest annual financial contribution for participation. This contribution depends on the type and capacity of the organization.
