Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie

Combined Forces

The implementation of the program requires a coordinated, collective effort from a coalition of companies, governments, financiers, and advocacy organizations. "Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie" collaborates closely with the five main economic chemistry clusters, receives support from financiers and knowledge institutions, and is financially backed by the provinces of Limburg, North Brabant, Zeeland, South Holland, Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe.

Chemistry Clusters

CHEMELOT CIRCULAR HUB

Chemelot Circular Hub is a triple helix partnership aiming to make Chemelot the first climate-neutral and circular chemical site by 2050. Partners include DSM, Sabic, Fibrant, Chemelot Industrial Park, Brightlands Chemelot Campus, Platform GCNE, TNO, UM, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, Vista College, LIOF, the Province of Limburg, and the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen. A comprehensive program has been developed for this goal, based on four pillars: innovations, infrastructure, human capital, and society.

Chemport Europe

Chemport Europe is the green chemistry ecosystem in Northern Netherlands. It consists of two integrated chemistry clusters in Delfzijl and Emmen, a large knowledge cluster around the universities in Groningen, and recycling expertise in Heerenveen. Chemport Europe aims to be a European leader in green chemistry by 2030. Chemport Europe supports entrepreneurs in finding suitable business locations, financing, and permits, and fosters connections between other companies in the ecosystem.

PORT OF MOERDIJK

Port of Moerdijk is the hub for innovation in the West Brabant region. The Port Authority of Moerdijk facilitates collaboration between businesses, provinces, municipalities, development companies, and knowledge and educational institutions in North Brabant. The port and industrial area play an important role in driving transitions. Whether it involves the transition to sustainable energy, circular raw materials, or climate-neutral living, these transitions need to be developed and built. As a hub of European logistics and circular chemistry, Port of Moerdijk is the regional connector in collaboration with BOM, Rewin, RWB, and the Green Chemistry Campus.

DELTALINQS

Deltalinqs is the business association representing the interests of over 95% of all logistics, port, and industrial companies in the Port of Rotterdam. On behalf of its members, Deltalinqs advocates for strengthening competitive power, sustainable growth, and societal or political support for all activities in the Rotterdam port and industrial area. Deltalinqs is active on various topics, including the economic transition (energy and raw material transitions and digitalization). Through the Deltalinqs Climate Program, it collaborates with members, partners, and stakeholders to promote sustainability in the Port of Rotterdam and build a new, future-proof economy.

SMART DELTA RESOURCES

Smart Delta Resources is a cross-border collaboration of energy- and resource-intensive companies in the Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Delta region, uniting the forces of industry, ports, and governments. Smart Delta Resources assists the industry in developing their sustainability plans through concrete, innovative programs focused on reducing CO2 emissions, promoting circularity, sustainable raw materials, and green energy.

AMSTERDAM cHEMISTRY NETWORK

The Amsterdam Chemistry Network is a network organization focused on chemistry and molecular life sciences in the Amsterdam metropolitan region. The network connects the academic excellence of Amsterdam and provides access to innovative minds, laboratories, and expertise to stimulate innovation. ACN understands the needs of the industry and actively participates in regional and national initiatives.
