Biobased Circular Continues Activities in 2027 and 2028

BioBased Circular continues. Although the government has not allocated the reserved funds for phase 2, the program will not stop. With the remaining resources from the first phase, BioBased Circular will carry on its activities in 2027 and 2028. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate supports this continuation.
Support for scaling up and market introduction will remain a central focus. Over the next two years, BioBased Circular will primarily focus on increasing market demand, organizing collaboration in value circles, finding financing for further scaling up, and reducing barriers that impede the use of biobased materials.
In doing so, BioBased Circular builds on what has been developed over the past years: an active community, collaborating companies and knowledge institutions, projects, expertise, and research and pilot infrastructure.
A number of targeted subsidy instruments remain available to further support innovations. For instance, the Circular and Biobased Testing Stimulation Scheme (STCB) will be opened again, and Innovation Impact Challenges (IICs) will be organized.
Other funding instruments through RVO also remain relevant for larger development and scaling projects.
Additionally, the rollout of the Human Capital Agenda will commence, which aims to ensure a sufficient number of qualified employees to enable the transition in the workplace.
Companies and other parties within the BioBased Circular community can continue to rely on a recognizable point of contact, a strong network, and targeted support for scaling up and market adoption over the next two years.
