New Program Manager GCNE
25-09-2024
The Platform Green Chemistry New Economy (GCNE) proudly announces that Nicole van Klaveren has been appointed as the successor to Anita Lieverdink as programme manager of GCNE. Nicole will serve as a central figure, based at TNO, working with various theme leaders to further develop GCNE's agenda on well-known topics such as chain formation, policy, financing, impact, and monitoring. We wish Nicole much success and look forward to collaboratively shaping the Industrial Transition for both the climate (Green Chemistry) and the economy (New Economy).
Nicole brings 20 years of experience in the energy sector, both in the public and private domains. Her background includes national energy and climate policy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, regional strategies for industrial transition at DCMR and the Rotterdam Climate Initiative, business development in energy and resources at the Port of Rotterdam, and sales and development for commodities at Bureau Veritas. Over the past year, Nicole has dedicated herself to advocating for the opportunities and challenges in the resource transition, which positions her perfectly for her new role as program manager for Green Chemistry, New Economy.
In these roles, Nicole has always operated in environments characterized by complexity and dynamism, focusing on achieving results while emphasizing the processes to get there. Central to her approach is the combination of collaborating with, connecting, supporting, and encouraging parties who ultimately bear the responsibility for investment decisions.
Nicole is warm, outgoing, and curious, possessing an energetic and entrepreneurial mindset. She is open to exploring new, unconventional ideas while remaining grounded.
“We face an enormous challenge to make the industry in the Netherlands more sustainable while also keeping it competitive in the international arena. I look forward to working with the program team, the regions, the clusters, and all those who are committed to the sustainability of the industry towards a future-proof society that is circular, sustainable, and resilient.”
Recently, the board bid farewell to Anita Lieverdink, expressing immense gratitude for her tireless efforts, quick adaptability, and the exceptionally pleasant collaboration. She has significantly raised the profile of GCNE over the past period. Anita will continue her work with TNO, focusing on the scale-up landscape for AI.
