From Start Note…

Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie (GCNE) was established in 2020, initiated by the Economic Network South Netherlands (ENZuid), Brightsite, and TNO. The first milestone was the start note on chain transition in the process industry.

… to Action Agenda…

The start note marked the launch of the action agenda ‘Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie,’ developed in close collaboration with the national government, various provinces, companies, clusters, knowledge institutions, and financiers. The European Commission is also actively involved in the action agenda.

… to Concrete Action

The start note and action agenda, supported by the formed coalition and numerous partners, led to the Program Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie.

For the period from 2022 through 2026, the provinces of North Brabant, Limburg, Zeeland, South Holland, Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe are providing subsidies to support the programmatic approach. Invest-NL and TNO are also contributing.

GCNE's ambition is to become largely financially self-sufficient in the long term, through contributions from platform members, NGF funding, and other grants and resources.
